Teenage Language Translation

While sitting here having a conversations with my teenage boy...I've discovered language is limited to a very few words. Whole sentences rarely exist. This will be an ever growing list and anyone's input is appreciated. Perhaps we can publish a dictionary(short one I know)

So far we've come up with these:
  • any noun...ie...what did you get at the library? A: a book
  • Huh?
  • SO What?
  • I dunno
  • I don't want to
  • What's for dinner?
  • I'm Hungry
  • nuthin.....(this is the answer to most any question)
  • Why?
  • Unintelligible mumblings....made that when he saw what i was writing
  • Yea
  • sure
  • Whatever
  • answer to most any question:..."stuff" "nuthin"
  • uh huh
  • in a minute
  • grunts...various forms
  • I'm confused
  • one second

Gwave...hmmm

I just started using google wave and I've yet to have the lightbulb go off. That's not to say the lightbulb isn't just dimmed very low. This article pretty much summed up how I feel about it at the moment. Beyond the obvious streamlining of the interface, critical mass seems to be of obvious importance.
While I'm at the cusp of groking this....I see the obvious frustrations that might ensue as I tried to get my entire organization to do so. That said, I'm truly excited about the possibilities and the fact that something entirely new in concept is being attempted.

Me? Diabetes?

I decided just over a week ago I would see if I could find a more efficiant manner to get down the stairs. The results were faster, but resulted in bruised and/or cracked ribs. This of course resulted in another longer trips to the doctor's office.
This in turn put to the top of my mind a promise I made to Mom shortly before she passed away that I would get a check up.
so while there getting my rubs poked, I scheduled to get the rest of me poked and prodded.
Long story short....another trip and second blood test later...and I'm diagnosed with type 2 diabetes.
I joke that I'm convinced that there was nothing wring with me until I went, but in reality I'm convinced my mom knew this and pushed me down those stairs to get my procrastinating ass to the docs. She had diabetes and genetics don't hide. I of course realize that I'm lucky to have discovered this early enough to hopefully prevent the damage it may cause. But I'm also feeling a bit angry. I quit smoking just over 3 months ago and this is my reward? I know selfish.
I'll take some time, get used to a new lifestyle(damn I'm gonna miss junk food) and come out the other side happier and healthier I'm sure. First I'm gonna be pissed off and depressed for a while so forgive me ahead of time if you don't mind?

That's it for now...as Zevon says....Life'll Kill ya

Chad's Snus Reviews & Information: Petition for S 1147 - PACT Act to EXCLUDE Swedish Snus. The time to act is now!

25+ years of smoking and this is what finally got me to quit! Believe me, I did countless hours of research on snus before making that decision. 98% safe then smoking!! Another thing that can be severely hampered just to get more tax dollars.

Kindle for PC Beta Brings E-Books to Bigger Screens [Downloads]

Kindle for PC Beta Brings E-Books to Bigger Screens [Downloads]: "

Windows: Amazon has released a Windows application, Kindle for PC, that tells you everything in its name. It syncs with other Kindle devices, offers color pictures, font size control, and other controls for reading on your computer.

Amazon seems to be pitching Kindle for PC as a supplement to, not a substitute for, a standard Kindle experience. Kindle for PC doesn't offer blogs, newspaper, or magazine subscriptions, and the interface doesn't offer much over the Kindle device it sprung from. That said, those without iPhone/ipod Touch or Kindle devices might be eager to try out the instant-on e-book experience, along with the joys of reading through free sample chapters for any and every book.

Kindle for PC is a free download for Windows XP, Vista, and 7 systems only. A Mac version is 'coming soon,' according to Amazon.
